Mary K. Chihak was born November 3, 1905, in Elma, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Jenny (Zak) Wacha. On May 3, 1932, she was united in marriage to Adolph J. Chihak in Lourdes, Iowa. He died October 5, 1997. They made there home in Cedar Falls. Following Adolph's death, Mary moved to Crystal Pines Nursing Home, Crystal Lake, IL, where she currently was residing.

Mary is survived three sons, Gene Chihak of Corpus Christi, TX, Arnie (Bernadine) Chihak of Katy, TX and Jerry (Adrienne) Chihak of Greensboro, GA; daughter, Marilyn (Leo) Ayala of McHenry, IL; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and sister, Nettie Burri of Lafayette, CO.

Mary died Sunday, December 28, 2003, at the Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law, Orlene Chihak.
