Lavon Davis Thomson was born April 5, 1936, in Bloomfield, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth W. and Bertha (Burkhalter) Cameron. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1958.

She married Richard Davis in Morris, Illinois and were married fro 30 years and later divorced. She then married Dr. Leland A. Thomson October 19, 2002 in Cedar Falls. She was Junior High science instructor in the District 54 School in Morris, Illinois, before her retirement. Lavon was a member of the Illinois Education Association and was an avid U.N.I athletic fan.

Lavon is survived by her husband, Lee of Cedar Falls; daughter, Tania (Mark) Correale of Seattle, WA; son, Kenneth (Lisa) Davis of Morris, IL; siblings, Robert (Betty) Cameron of Burlington, Alice Huffman of Bloomfield, Cheryl Harris of Waukegan, IL, and David (Diane) Cruikshank of Omaha, NE; granddaughter, Zoe Correale of Seattle, WA; grandsons, Nicholas, Ryan, Trevor, and Corey Davis, all of Morris, IL; and step-daughter, Margaret Thomson of West Des Moines, IA.

Lavon died Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
