CEDAR FALLS - Tamara Tami Reitzel Brown, 57, of Covina, Calif., formerly of Cedar Falls, died at her home Oct. 5, 2005, of a coronary.

She was born Feb. 3, 1938, in Waterloo, daughter of James P. and Phyllis Lucas Reitzel. She married Dave Brown in California, and they later divorced.

She graduated from Cedar Falls High School with the class of 1966 and had been involved in the banking industry for more than 20 years in the Covina area.

In 1988 she was instrumental in starting Lifesavers Foundation, a foundation assisting leukemia patients in their search for matching donors. She was very active in mentoring others and supporting Alcoholics Anonymous

Survived by two sons, Jeremy Brown of San Dimas, Calif., and Christopher Brown of Covina; a sister, Becky (Bob) Dixon of Waterloo; a niece, Kimberly Dixon of Cedar Falls; and a special friend, Mike Hudson of Covina.

Preceded in death by her parents; and her stepmother, Dale Reitzel.

Memorial services: 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Covina, on Oct. 12. The family will receive friends following the service at St. Patrick Catholic Church Parish Court.

Memorials may be directed to the Tami Reitzel Brown Scholarship at Cedar Falls High School.
