WATERLOO — Sandra J. Helgeson-Schroeder, 75, of Waterloo, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Gordon, Neb., daughter of Dwyer A. and Dora Jones Sailor. She married Nathan Helgeson on Jan. 1, 1955, in Waterloo. He died May 31, 1987. She then married Stanley Schroeder on April 27, 1991, in Waterloo, and he died May 17, 2004.

She worked in management at Kmart for 21 years and Osco Drug for 18 years, retiring in 1998.

Survived by two sons, Timothy of Evansdale and Bruce (Cindi) of Dysart; two daughters, Cindy (Mark) Klenzman of Waterloo and Susan (Kirk) “Kurt” Plagge of Boise, Idaho; a stepson, Scott (Debra) Schroeder of Burlington; two stepdaughters, Sacha (Chris) Bonny of Libertyville, Ill., and Kira (Phil) Schmitt of Rochester, N.Y.;14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Preceded in death by a special friend, Bandit.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
