DUNKERTON — Karen Kay Faust, 72, of Vista, Calif., formerly of Dunkerton, died at home Tuesday, May 28, 2013.

She was born Jan. 27, 1941, daughter of Gerhard and Frances Newsom Kuenstling. She was married to Wayne Faust, formerly of Waterloo, for over 50 years.

She retired from the Carlsbad Lutheran Health Facility where she spent 15 years as a dietary cook.

Survived by her husband; a son, William (Pamela) of Oceanside, Calif.; a daughter, Mary Faust of Fort Stockton, Texas; two grandchildren, Jonathan Crothers of Spokane, Wash., and Tiffany Sloan of Fort Stockton; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Sloan of Fort Stockton.
