Mr. Acie F. Colvin

Acie F. Colvin, 78, of 2611 Lafayette St., died Tuesday, July 14, at Covenant Medical Center of heart failure.

He was born September 17, 1915, in Waterloo, son of George and Edna Moore Colvin. He married Maxine McFarland on Dec. 31, 1936, in Waterloo.

Mr. Colvin was a butcher with Rath Packing Co. for 43 years, retiring in 1977.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David of Waterloo; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, George of Waterloo, Warren of Cedar Falls, Donald of Kingman, Arizona, and Earl of Las Vegas, Nevada; and a sister, Gert Betz of Waterloo; he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce; and three brothers, Art, Floyd and Johnnie.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. and before services Friday.

Memorials may be given to Linden United Memorial Church.
