Clarence Martin, 79, of Smitty's Trailer Village, died yesterday afternoon of an apparent heart attack. Arrangements are pending at Parrott and Wood Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Clarence Martin, 69, of 1531 Sager Ave., who was found dead of a heart condition in his home Saturday, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Parrott and Wood Funeral home with Rector J. C. Dahm of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.

Mr. Martin was born at Pipestone, Minn., March 29, 1901, son of Wesley and Clara Read Martin and married lona Lorraine Fredin in Waterloo Sept. 22, 1923.

He was an employe for 40 years of the Meany Casket Co. prior to his retirement four years ago. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and was superintendent of its Sunday School and was also on its vestry.

Surviving besides, his wife are two sons, Clarence, Jr., of 1670 Sager Ave., and Garry of 1220 Sunnyside Circle, Cedar Falls; five grandchildren and one brother, Clifford (Skip) Martin of 1011 Leavitt St. Also surviving are one half-brother, Ronald Burright of 401 Norwood Ave., and two half-sisters, Mrs. Madeline Randall of 401 Norwood, and Mrs. Lois Ellison, of 819 Newton St.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
