John W. Hileman, 69, of 153 Linwood Ave., died of cerebral thrombosis at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Schoitz Memorial Hospital. He had been a patient at the hospital since Thursday.

The son of Thomas and Fanny Hileman, he was born June 25, 1885, in Waterloo, where he married Miss Edna Bernett on June 20, 1907.

In 1950 he retired from active employment with the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company after 39 years of service. He was a charter member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Lois Sanborn of Sioux City, Mrs. Ruth Younker of Fonda and Mrs. Vera Singleton of North Liberty and two brothers, Percy of 224 Sunnyside and Harold of Los Angeles, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and a granddaughter.

Funeral, services are pending at Locke Funeral Home, where friends may call.

The family requests that flowers be omitted but that any memorials be given to the American Cancer fund.

Funeral services for John W. Hileman, 69, who died of cerebral thrombosis Tuesday, will be Friday at 3 p. m. at the Trinity American Lutheran church. The Rev. G. E. Melchert, pastor of the church, will officiate.

The casket will be taken to the church at 1 p.m., and will be open only until time of the service. It will not be opened after the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
