GONNERMAN, NICHOLS, GRABINSKI, MOORE, ELLIOTT

WATERLOO — Donald G. Gonnerman, 80, of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn., from complication of lymphoma.

He was born May 21, 1933, in Garrison, son of Frederick and Alice Mae Nichols Gonnerman. He married Marilyn Grabinski on Feb. 1, 1958, at Walnut Street Baptist Church.

He graduated from Dysart High School in 1951 and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Gonnerman attended Lemars College and Upper Iowa University and then worked as an auto parts salesman for 30 years for Repass Auto and Kar Products and at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church and Academy in building maintenance for 20 years.

Survived by his wife of Waterloo; two sons, Rodney of Waterloo and Michael (Dana) of Overland Park, Kan.; a daughter, Sara (Daniel) Moore of Council Bluffs; six grandchildren, Erica, Ashley and Mallory Gonnerman, and Emily, Katie and Zachary Moore; and a sister, Eleanor Elliott of Sedalia, Mo.

Preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Eugene Elliott.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.
