CEDAR FALLS — Marion Sylvia Christensen Everson Moon, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, May 26, 2013.

She was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Fairmount, N.D., daughter of Maren and Mads Christensen. She married John Everson on Oct. 18, 1939. He died in 1941. She married Gordon Moon on Oct. 12, 1945. He died in 1968.

Mrs. Moon attended Fairmount High School and earned a degree in business at the State School of Science. She and Gordon farmed in North Dakota until illness forced them to move to Iowa in 1961. She lived in Cedar Falls until her death.

Survived by three children: Charlene Everson Slagel of Kansas City, Mo., Hal Moon of Georgetown, Fla., and Phyllis Moon Sargent of Hampton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Christensen of Wahpeton, N.D.

Preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Delmar and Lloyd; her two husbands, John Everson and Gordon Moon; her poodle, Stuart; and longtime companion Verlin Slight.

Memorial services: 2 p.m. Friday at NewAldaya Lifescapes Chapel, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society, Waterloo, in lieu of flowers.

She enjoyed dancing and visiting with friends, her house and her flowers. Her constant companion in later years was her poodle, Stuart.
