Services are pending at the Johnson Funeral Home for Robert George Potter, 85, of 821 Fowler St., who died Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at his home of complications from advanced age.

He was born Sept. 19, 1876, at Manchester, Ky., the son of Joshua and Sarah Potter. He moved to Buxton in 1905 and came to Waterloo in 1922. On July 11, 1925, he married Grace Harris in Waterloo. He retired from the Rath Packing Co. in 1951 after 28 years of service. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, joining in Barbersville, Ky. He was past master of St. John's Lodge in Waterloo. He was steward emeritus of the Payne Memorial A.M.E. Church.

Survivors include his wife, a son, Alonzo of Des Moines, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Spencer of the home, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, two sons and two daughters.

Funeral services for Robert George Potter, 85, of 821 Fowler St., who died Thursday at home of complications from advanced age, will be at the Payne Memorial AME Church tomorrow afternoon with the Rev. I. V. Tolbert, officiating.

The St. John's Masonic Lodge will be in charge of the services.

Mr. Potter will be buried in the family plot if Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Johnson Funeral Home from Sunday until noon tomorrow.
