William J. Babnick, 93, originally of Pueblo, Colorado, died Saturday, November 8, 2008, at the Western Home Communities Martin Center. He was born December 23, 1914, in Lime, Colorado, the son of Joseph and Mary (Stegensek) Babnik.

He was united in marriage to Marion Margaret Boyington on January 29, 1942 in Pueblo. She died September 29, 1977. He then married Wanda Mae Cappleman on June 30, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nevada; they later divorced. Bill was employed by Oriental Refining Co. for 24 years and then with Suburban Propane Co. as Control Specialist until retiring in 1977.

Bill is survived by, two sons, Richard W. (Dena) Babnick of Trinidad, CO; Pastor Robert J. (Linda) Babnick of Clayton, NM; a daughter, Marlo A. (Rod) Dawson of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Mary Hanson and Stephanie Plese both of Pueblo; three brothers, Stanley Babnik of Pueblo, Joseph Babnik of Denver, CO, and John Babnik of Shelton, WA.

Bill was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Babnik; two brothers, Albert and Harry Babnick.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Richardson Funeral Home. Further services will occur 2:oo p.m. Tuesday, November 18, at College Heights Baptist Church in Farmington, NM; with inurnment in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Farmington.

Memorials may be directed to the Western Home Communities Martin Center.
