Norine A. Sandvold was born December 14, 1925, in Collins, Iowa, the daughter of John and Mabel (Dodd) Halterman. She graduated from Roland High School in 1943. On January 18, 1947, she was united in marriage to David T. Sandvold in Roland, Iowa. He died October 10. 1996.

She owned and operated Nick's Beauty Nook out of her home for 35 years. She was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church for 54 years.

Norine is survived by two sons and their wives, Keith and Louise Sandvold of Cedar Falls and Craig and Debbie Sandvold of Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Jeff (Amy) Sanvold, Jenny (Brad) Sandvold and Jessica (Matt) Switzer; five great grandchildren, Houston and Andrew Sandvold and Bailey, Brandon and Jacob Sandvold; and sister, Betty (Ed) Rosheim of Tama.

Norine died Friday, March 28, 2003, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wendall and Delmar Halterman and sister, Ruth Bock.
