WATERLOO — Dale G. Herzberg, 81, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 24, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Clarinda, son of Oscar and Ethel Roberts Herzberg. He married Helen E. Strom on March 9, 1957, in Hepburn. She preceded him in death May 4, 2013.

Mr. Herzberg and his wife moved to Waterloo in 1957. He worked at John Deere for 33 years in maintenance, retiring in 1986.

Survived by a daughter, DaleAnn (Rick) Christensen of Waterloo; a son, Jim Herzberg of Jesup; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Darwin of Clarinda; and a sister, Joyce (Dean) Meyer of Villisca.

Preceded in death by three brothers, his twin Donald, Virgil and LaVon; and a sister, Vianna Finch.

Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
