CEDAR FALLS - Dallas Lee Hurlbut, 75, of 2212 W. 12th st died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000. in the Intensive Care Unit at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 15, 1924, in Black Hawk County, son of Lee and Leoti Billman Hurlbut. He married Martha Marie Bruene June 1, 1950, near Traer.

A U.S. Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. Savo Island in the Pacific Theater during World War 11, Mr. Hurlbut was a self-employed truck driver for many years, also working for W.R. Arthur Co. and Carnation. He was also a poultry fanner for Hy-Line International and was past department commander of the Department Council of Iowa and past grand patriarch of the Grand Encampment of Iowa.

Survived by his wife; two daughters, Marilyn Hurlbut of Cedar Falls and Evelyn Falk of Chandler, Ariz.; a son, Robert of Cedar Falls; and three grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Lewis; and a sister, Lillian G. Miller. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AM VETS Post 49. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-
Schoof Funeral Home, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. and an Odd Fellows Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial fund will be established.
