WASHBURN - Mildred Irene "Tiny" Meyerhoff, 95, of Washburn, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born March 13, 1912, in Lamont, daughter of Charles LeRoy and Sarah Cook. She married Melvin Meyerhoff Dec. 3, 1953, at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls.

She attended Iowa Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and after receiving her teaching certificate taught at the UNI Laboratory schools for many years, and also was a clerk at Woolworths.

Throughout the years, she was active in many things including having been a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, Waterloo, a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Cedar Falls, AmVets Post No. 19 Auxiliary, American Legion Post No. 138 Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, all in Waterloo. During her spare time she loved to collect things, with her 7,000 thimbles being her pride and joy.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Elrene Lorla Struckman of San Diego; two grandchildren, Stephanie Struckman of San Diego and Jason Struckman of Savannah, Ga.; and a sister, Lucille Forrester of Atlanta.

Preceded in death by her parents; a daughter; and three brothers.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, Waterloo, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, where there will be a 4 p.m. Cedar Falls Rebekahs service.
