WATERLOO — Thomas T. “Tom” Winder, 75, of Seal Beach, Calif., formerly of Waterloo, died Jan. 26, 2013, at the hospital in Seal Beach from complications of pneumonia.

He was born April 11, 1937, in Council Bluffs, son of Dr. C. D. and Charlotte Gould Winder. He married Carla Cross in Waterloo and they were later divorced. He then married Lynn Gaudel in Houston and they also divorced. He then married Ann Marie Sakamoto in Seal Beach.

He graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1955, where he was a state wrestling champion. He attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon and later graduated from the Chicago Institute of Technology. Mr. Winder was employed by John Deere & Co. as a draftsman and was also engaged in farming, before retiring.

Survived by his wife; a son, Trent Thomas of Buena Park, Calif.; three daughters, Traci Sue Imbrogno of Buena Park, Calif., Tandia Marie Johnson of Cypress, Calif., and Tara Lynn (Ron) Henley of Magnolia, Texas; two brothers, John (Betty) of Mount Vernon and Dick (Janet) of Iowa Falls; a sister, Carol (Russell) Ferris of Victor, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Waterloo Memorial Park Chapel, with inurnment in the cemetery. There will be a time of fellowship at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball following the service.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
