Eugene W. "Gene" Cain, 75 of Waterloo, died Thursday, November 22, 2007, at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 16, 1932, in Denver, son of Earl and Mae Gaffney Cain. He married Monica Kussatz December 26, 1959, in Waterloo.

He was a U.S Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. Gene was employed with with the Waterloo Courier for 17 years, and then with John Deere for 28 years retiring in 1992.

Survivors include his wife; a son Randy (Carrie) of Henning, MN; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a brother Larry (Shirley) Cain of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by two sons, Mike and Brian Frank Cain, and two sisters, Mildred Harrison and Donna Lammers.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. today at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on South Street with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation for an hour before services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family.
