John W. Tompkins died at his home, 1026 Hammond Avenue, at 4:10 p.m. Sunday. Death was due to influenza and pneumonia.
He was born January 11, 1863. He had resided in Waterloo a little more than two years.
Surviving are the widow and six children: Mrs. Hattie Kriser, Coldwater, Michigan; Mrs. C. H. Lubbs, 216 Lincoln Street, Waterloo; Gladys, Zola, John and Mary, at home. Also surviving are a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at the o'Keefe & Towne Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday by J. T. Houser. Burial will be in Elmwood.
