HUDSON — Roger Larry Gordon, 71, of Cambridge, Minn., formerly of Hudson, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Grace Pointe Gables West, Cambridge, Minn., of Alzheimer’s disease.

He was born May 4, 1942, in Kensett, son of Lawrence and Myrtle Gillerman Gordon.

He graduated from Northwood-Kensett High School and attended NIACC, Mason City, where he studied drafting. Mr. Gordon worked for several years for Chamberlain Manufacturing, Waterloo, and also for TriMark (Duchossois) in Hampton, where he retired. Following his retirement, he worked part time for Lowe’s, Waterloo. He also built and operated a mini-storage business in Hudson. He had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hudson.

Survived by two sons, Darin (CJ) Bartels of Cambridge and Todd Bartels of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Kayla Bartels (Chris Crowl) of Grundy Center, Zachary Bartels (Kala Rhoads) of Cambridge, Zildjian Bartels of Denver and Dawson and Emilie Bartels, also of Cambridge; two great-grandchildren, Khloe and Brooklynn Bartels; his brother, Dean (Phyllis) of Northwood; his sister, Laura (Gary) Greenlund of Northfield, Minn.; two nieces and one nephew; and many other extended family members and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Conner Colonial Chapel, Northwood, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Kensett Cemetery.

Roger loved carpentry and built his homes and helped many friends build their homes. He also loved to restore cars.
