WATERLOO — Gerald M. “Jerry” Schneider, 87, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born May 11, 1925, in Minnesota, son of John P. and Julia M. Reicherts Schneider. He married LaVonne Schneider; she preceded him in death.

Mr. Schneider served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survived by two brothers, Gene of Waterloo and John E. (Donna) of Denver, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a sister, Ursula MaGee.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with inurnment at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed in his name to the church.
