CEDAR FALLS — Jim C. Hostetter, 69, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of complications of a sudden illness.

He was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Waterloo, son of Robert K. and Helen “Donna” Elliott Hostetter. He married Judy Hundley; they were later divorced.

He graduated from West High School in 1962 and from the University of Northern Iowa. Mr. Hostetter had worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. and Titus Manufacturing. He then worked at John Deere for several years.

Survived by three sisters: Susan (Larry) Bantz, Nancy Duffy and Judy (Gary) Sadler, all of Waterloo; five nieces and nephews: Julie (Frank) Marino, Steve Bantz, Brian Duffy, Nick Sadler and Evan Sadler; five great-nieces and nephews: Frankie, Brea, Gunnar, Joseph and Ben; and a great-great-niece.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Family graveside services: will be held at a later date at Waterloo Cemetery. There will be no visitation. His body has been cremated. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Sartori Memorial Fund.

Jim was an avid golfer and runner. He had a passion for fast cars, especially Corvettes.
