LA PORTE CITY — Pearl Buser, 101, formerly of 306 Bishop Ave., died Monday, Dec. 2, 1996, at La Porte City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.

She was born July 17, 1895, in rural La Porte City, daughter of George W. and Emma Newton Young. She married Dr. John R. Buser on Jan. 1, 1927; he died Oct. 21, 1958.

Survived by a stepdaughter-in-law.

Preceded in death by a stepson, Arnold Buser; four brothers: Leslie, Jobs, Earl and Forest Young; and two sisters, Myrtle Gardner and Ella Mitt.

Services: 1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until noon Thursday at Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, and for an hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church.
