CEDAR FALLS — Everett R. Bell, 74, of 3320 Tucson Drive, died at home Monday. Dec. 2, 1996, of natural causes.

He was born June 29, 1922, in Independence, son of Jefferson Pierce and Frances S. Lay Bell. He married Betty Elizabeth Warner on Dec. 4, 1942, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Bell served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific. He worked for MidAmerica Energy for 36 years, retiring in 1987,

Survived by his wife: a son, Thomas H. of Waterloo; two daughters, Sharon Bell and Linda Rider, both of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; a brother, Elijah of Waterloo; and a sister. Virginia Riker of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George and Wayne: and a sister. Peggy Avery.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Dahi-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until senices Friday at the funeral home.

A memorial fund will be established.
