WATERLOO - Romelda E. Klein, 87, of ManorCare Health Systems died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at the care center from complications of Alzheimer's disease'

She was born June 3, 1912, in Grand Meadow Township rural Postville, daughter of Edwin M. and Louise K. Kluss Gass. She married Lawrence P. Klein on Aug. 21 1937 in Waterloo. He died March 29, 1993.

Mrs. Klein attended Normal Training School (UNI) Cedar Falls, and worked as an accountant for American Trust and Savings Bank, Dubuque.

Survived by two sons, Leo M. O'Hara of Postville and Michael L. Klein of Palatine, Ill.; a daughter, Kathryn K Elder of Waterloo; 15 grandchildren and 24 sreat-arandchildren; and a brother, LeRoy A. Gass of West Union.

Preceded in death by a grandson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p m Wednesday at Hagarty-WaychofT-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
