James W. "Jim" Given, 70, of Evansdale died Sunday October 28, 2007, at his home.

He was born October 2, 1937, in Estherville, son of Floyd and Bernice Steele Given. He married Patricia J. Peterson November 23, 1958 in Jackson, MN. She died October 17, 2000.

Mr. Given was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed with John Deere for 30 years retiring in 1995.

Survivors include two sons, Craig (Judy) Given of Dallas, TX, and Rick (Melissa) Given of Coppell, TX; two daughters-in-law, Kim Matous-Neelans of Waterloo, and Kris Given of Glencoe, MN; six grandchildren: Lindsey (Jesse) Oltrogge, Megan Neelans, Mark Given, Angela Given, Morgan Moore, and Taylor Kakacek; and a brother, Bob (Noni) Given of Harlingen, TX.

Preceded in death by two sons, Bill and Marty and a grandson Mitchell Mic.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Garden Of Memories Cemetery both in Waterloo. Public visitation will be from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family.
