WATERLOO — Hurschel W. Taylor, 73, of Brooklyn, formerly of Waterloo, died at home Friday, April 26, 2013.

He was born Feb. 14, 1940, in Mount Ida, Ark., son of Ambrose and Juanita Taylor. He married Shirley Faye Hollis in Poplar Bluff, Mo., on March 24, 1961. She died Dec. 13, 1997.

Mr. Hurschel owned and operated H & S Silo and retired in 2001 after 35 years in the farming silo industry.

Survived by his companion, Charlotte Hansen of Brooklyn; three daughters, Pam (Mike) Harrington of Colorado Springs, Colo., Darlene Heinen of Waterloo and Sharon (Karl) White of Nashua; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dannie Taylor of Mesa, Ariz.

Preceded in death by a granddaughter, and two brothers, Homer and Wallace Taylor.

Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.
