KING, HILMER, RACEY, HAGARTY, CARTER

Lorraine E. King, 80, of Waterloo, died Saturday October 20, 2007, at home of cancer.

She was born November 16, 1926, in Waterloo, daughter of Paulus and Estelle Racey Hilmer. She married Delmar King on July 17, 1954 in Waterloo. He died April 24, 1989. She graduated from OLVA High School and attended Clark College in Dubuque. She was the secretary for the Waterloo City Building Inspector until her retirement. She later was a secretary for the Religious Education Department of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Survivors include two sons Kevin (Julie) King of Janesville, and Terry (Mary) King of Shellsburg; two daughters Traci (Pat) Hagarty of Cedar Falls, and Kathy (Mike) Carter of Waterloo; her best friend Anna Armstrong of Waterloo; eight grandchildren: Jessica and Brittany King, Natalie Phillips, Ben Caitlin and Shawn Hagarty, Ami (Jeremy) Roeding, and Cori Carter; and three great-grandchildren: Levi and Hannah Roeding and Hunter Hill.

Preceded in death by her twin brother Rev. Robert E. Hilmer and a brother in infancy.

Services will be 10:30 Wednesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service and at the church for an hour before services on Wednesday.
