FAYETTE - Donna June Pitts, 74, of Fayette, died Sunday, June 3, at Good Samaritan Home, West Union, following a long illness.

She was born Aug. 1, 1937, in Blue Earth, Minn., daughter of Howard L. and Viola Kuchenreuther Watkins. She married Dale Boike in 1957, and they later divorced. In 1972 she married Norman Pitts. He died in 2003.

Mrs. Pitts graduated from State Teachers College High School, Cedar Falls, in 1954, and from Waterloo School of Beauty Culture in 1956. She owned the Edgewood Beauty Shop in Cedar Falls, the Triangle Tap in Hudson, worked in inventory control at Land O’ Lakes in Hudson, owned the Postville Bed and Breakfast and made all the baked goods at Boike’s Restaurant, Fayette, for many years.

Survived by a son, David C. (Debra) Boike of Fayette; a stepdaughter, Cindy (Mike) McFadden of Randalia; two stepsons, Steve Pitts of Mount Horeb, Wis., and Richard Pitts of Moores Fork, N.Y.; two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen (Gary) Darland of Marion and Betty Jean (Franklin) Scheff of Fairmont, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Carol Watkins of Mount Horeb.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Roy and Roger Watkins.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Fayette Community Church, preceded by an hour of visitation. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Fayette, is in charge of arrangements.
