CEDAR FALLS — Marcia L. Chamness, 77, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Presbyterian Village, Ackley.

She was born Jan. 14, 1936, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Clifton and Bernice Palmer Ahrens. She married Charles G. Chamness on Oct. 26, 1957, in Montezuma.

Mrs. Chamness was a business education teacher for the Cedar Falls Community School District and Hawkeye Community College.

Survived by her husband; a son, Mark (Michelle) of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; two daughters, Terri (Ted) Hammes of Story City and Kevan Chamness of Highlands Ranch; and five grandchildren: Benjamin, Samuel and Zebulon Hammes, and Alexis and Amanda Chamness.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo or Presbyterian Village.
