CEDAR FALLS - Elinor Lou Smith, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 19, 1926 in Davenport, daughter of Axel and Freda (Gloor) Johnson. She married Paul W. Smith on October 16, 1948 in Cedar Falls. He died October 22, 1962.

Mrs. Smith was a longtime stenographer with JS Latta in Cedar Falls, retiring after more than 35 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula Smith of Washington, DC, and Patricia Jones of N. Hollywood, CA; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald (Mary) Johnson of Tacoma, WA.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Kris Marie Smith; and a sister, Marjorie Behrens.

Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with burial in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Chicago. Friends may call for one our prior to services Monday at the church.
