Leslie E. Dawson, 64, of Waterloo died Monday March 30, 2009, at his home.

He was born September 15, 1944, in Black Hawk County, son of Donald and Lois Kellogg Dawson.

He married Louise Ray March 6, 1985, in Independence. Mr. Dawson had been employed in construction roofing and brick laying in the Waterloo area and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Louise; three sons: Randy, David (Tasha) and Michael Dawson all of Waterloo; a daughter Sarah (John Reiners) Dawson of Waterloo; four grandchildren: Rachel (Justin) McKinney, Dustin Dawson, Danielle and Joey Reiners; four great-grandchildren: Tyler, Ashtin and Tommy McKinney, and Alivia Dawson; three sisters: Patricia Bergmann of Cedar Falls, Debbie (Mike Hansen) Webster of Waterloo, and Barbara (Chris) Kelly of Hiawatha, and a brother Danny (Eldora) Dawson of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Leslie Dawson Jr., and a daughter in infancy, Lesa Dawson, and a brother James Dawson Sr.
