Services for Vern L. Messerer, 74, of 919 Cornwall Ave., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kimbali Avenue United Methodist Church (use Byron Avenue entrance) with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Mr. Messerer died Sunday (Oct. 12, 1986) at Covenant Medical Center at Kimbali Avenue.

He was born Sept. 14, 1912, in Sumner, son of George H. and Mary Reif Messerer. He married Myrie M. Faley on Nov. 3, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo. He was a civil service aircraft mechanic at Tinker Field Airbase in Oklahoma City, retiring in 1974.

Surviving is his wife.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Hulse and Ella and Stella Messerer; and three brothers, Harvey, George and Ralph.

Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at The Kearns, Huisman Schumacher Chapel, where a memorial service will be at 7 p.m. by the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 328.

Memorials may be made to the church.
