WATERLOO — Edna Ottilia Draude, 88, of Parkview Gardens Nursing & Rehab Center, formerly of 819 Wisner Drive, died at the center Tuesday, May 28, 2002, of natural causes.

She was born June 12, 1913, in Ackley, daughter of Jacob and Bertha Studer Richtsmeier. She married John Francis Draude Sr. on Oct. 16,1943, in Lakehurst, N.Y. Mrs. Draude was a devoted housewife and mother.

Survivors include her husband; three sons: John (Bonnie) Draude Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Captain Joseph (Kathy) Draude DOS of Jacksonville, Fla., and James (Chris) Draude of Waterloo; two daughters, Jean Draude of Cedar Falls and Joan (Mark) Brayer of Janesville, Wis.; eight grandchildren: John Draude III, Matthew Draude, Joe Draude Jr., Jeff Draude, Julie Alsup, Philip Draude, Sarah Brayer and Michael Draude; a great-granddaughter, Jenna Draude; a sister, Marie Sauter of Minneapolis; and a brother, Dr. Anthony Richtsmeier of Madison, Wis.

Preceded in death by three sisters: Clara Richtsmeier, Mira Strahorn and Sister Bertha Richtsmeier OSF; and three brothers: Clarence, Al and Maurice Richtsmeier.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or American Diabetic Association.
