William T. Turner, 74, of 1223 Wayne St., died of a heart atack at his home at 6:15 p. m. Wednesday.
He was born June 14, 1880, in Waterloo, the son of Joseph and Sarah Todd Turner, and attended school in East Waterloo Township. He farmed in the Waterloo area and in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota until his retirement five years ago.
Mr. Turner married Nellie Ackerman in 1903. They had two children, Harvey, 1204 Jefferson St., and Mrs. Elsie Sandagard 1409 Franklin St., and were divorced in 1919. In 1923 he married Florence Knight of Osage.
They had five children, Mrs. Pauline Viti, Chicago; Mrs. Joseph Pochekailo, Mountain Home, Ida.; Mrs. Milo Spencer, Pendleton. Ore.; Donald, 122 Ricker St., and Richard, of Readlyn. A brother, John Turner, 1223 Wayne St., 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, parents, one brother and two sisters.
The body is at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home, pending funeral arrangements.
