WATERLOO — Jeffrey Scott Hovey, 47, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at Allen Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 29, 1965, in Waterloo, son of Jack and Vanda Sloan Hovey.

Mr. Hovey graduated from Central High School in 1984 and was a carpenter for local union 876.

Survived by: his wife, Dawn Burt-Widmann of Waterloo; two sons, Caleb Jeffery Moser and Cody Allan Lamprecht, both of Waterloo; three stepsons, Joseph Ayala of Evansdale, Michael Plazola and Trinity Widmann, both of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Chloe Widmann of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Olivia Marie Moser; six brothers, Randy (Kathy) of Waterloo, Jack (Kathy) of Cedar Falls, Mark of Golden, Colo., Steve (Karen) of Farmington, Minn., Brad of Aurora, Colo., and Matt of Waterloo; four sisters: Suzanne (Craig) Hetland of Pella, Nancy (Dave) Beenblossom of Janesville, Lisa (Gary) Sharp of Burlington, Wisc., and Jeanne (Gary) Hulbert of Janesville.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Craig Hovey.

Services: 11 a.m Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street and for an hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
