WATERLOO - James Ellis Aneweer, 70, of Yuma, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, in Waterloo of lung cancer.

He was born May 20, 1937, in Clarksville, son of Herman and Harriet Wentworth Aneweer. He married Judith Pittman Aug. 15, 1964, in LaPorte City.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed in the foundry at John Deere in Waterloo, retiring in 1988. Mr. Aneweer then owned and operated Chicken on the Run in Yuma, with his wife. He was junior governor at Loyal Order of Moose #2663 in Yuma.

Survived by his wife; two sons, George (Elizabeth) of Waterloo and Randy of Iowa; three daughters: Pamela Taylor of Waterloo, Ginny (Gary) Rooney of Modesto, Calif., and Sue Rule of Cedar Falls; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers: Jerry of Hudson, Raymond (Virginia) of Cedar Falls, Rogers (Anna-Mae) of Odebolt and Robert (Colleen) of Stout; and a sister, Bonnie Stevens of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and David; and a sister, Dorothy.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Full military honors will be provided by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service.
