Services are pending at the O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home where friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday for Mrs. Ida B. Holmes, 98, of 211 Reed St. who died at home at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday of complications of her age.

She was born in West Union on Feb. 20, 1871, the daughter of George and Harriet Van Dorn Thompson. On Nov. 13,1895, she was married to Clarence S. Holmes in West Union.

Mrs. Holmes moved to Waterloo in 1968 and lived with a niece, Miss Harriet Steffans. She is also survived by Mrs. Homer O'Donnell of 1320 Kimball Ave.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, a daughter, a sister and one brother.
