Frank Beener, 75, of 2221 East Fourth street, died of carcinoma at his home at 12:35 p. m. Thursday after a long illness.

Mr. Beener, car repair foreman for the Illinois Central railroad for 36 years prior to his retirement on Oct. 1, 1937, was born Nov. 10, 1872 in Bavaria, the son of Heronimus Beener, and came to this country with his parents when he was 10 years old.

The family came directly to Waterloo and Mr. Beener worked on farms in the vicinity until he was 21 and went to work for the Illinois Central Railroad.

Mr. Beener married at Waterloo on March 26, 1894, Miss Ernestina Callies, who survives, with two sons, Charles, 624 Summer Street, and Herman, 720 Kerm Street; two daughters, Mrs. A. A. Boyce, Route 5, and Mrs. John Speicher, 717 Kern; and two brothers, Martin 518 Adams Street, and Bloss, Los Angeles, Cal.

His parents, two sisters and two sons, William and Fred, preceded Mr. Beener in death.

The body was taken to Locke Funeral Home and services will be Monday at Trinity American Lutheran Church. The hour had not been set Thursday afternoon.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
