WATERLOO - Douglas J. "Doug" Crisman, 44, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of pancreatic cancer.

He was born April 10, 1963, in Waterloo, son of Earl and Beverly Robinson Crisman. He married Linda M. Ameling on Sept. 1, 1990, in Waterloo.

Mr. Crisman worked as a shipping clerk for 20 years at Interstate Brands Corporation (Wonder Bread). He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Crisman of Waterloo; two sons, Drew and Jarett Crisman, both at home; his father, Earl Crisman of Waterloo; two brothers, Dennis Crisman, and Ron (Shellie) Crisman, both of Waterloo; and a sister, Ann (Dan) Lawless of Independence.

Preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Crisman; grandparents, Harry (Augusta Mae) Robinson and Everett (Ruth) Crisman; and his father- and mother-in-law Richard (Adeline) Ameling.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. scripture service, at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and an hour before services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Doug loved his family greatly and his pride and joy was his two sons. He coached them and many other young people in baseball, football and basketball through the Waterloo Leisure Service Programs, as sports and coaching as well as the Hawkeye's were his passions. He was inducted into the Waterloo Softball Association Hall of Fame in 2007. He will be greatly missed by many.
