Services for Evelyn Yarrow Ritchie, 70, of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., formerly of Waterloo, were 2 p.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville, Va., with burial in Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, Va.

Mrs. Ritchie died at 8:15 p.m. Dec. 29 at Loudoun Memorial Hospital in Leesburg, Va.

She was born Dec. 18, 1911, at LaPorte City, daughter of Luke and Amy Foss Yarrow. Her mother died in 1914, and she and her brother were reared by their grandparents, Elwin and Ida Foss. She graduated from La Porte City High School in 1929 and attended Gates Business College in Waterloo. She was a secretary in the Department of Defense, Washington. D.C., retiring in 1989.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Ritchie of Keys Ferry Acres Box 360, Harpers Ferry. W.Va.; a daughter, Virginia I. Ritchie of Chapel Mil, N.C.; and a brother, Morris Yarrow of Tulsa, Okla.
