Raymond S. Powell, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was born March 6, 1911 in Patrick County, Virginia the son of Waller Reeves and Lucy Alberta (Hubbard) Powell. He married Gladys L. Kauffman April 14, 1937 in Shelby County, Iowa. She died November 30, 1995.

Before his retirement he was a dairy farmer, and in later years he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and his family.

He is survived by one daughter, Carol (Edward) Seufferlein of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and one son, Roger Powell of Ontario, California; five grandchildren, James, Terry, Daniel, and Steven Seufferlein, and Kevin Powell; four great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Grant, Michael, and Christopher Seufferlein.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, and six brothers.

Funeral services were Thursday, May 13, at Cedarloo Church of Christ in Cedar Falls. Interment was Friday, May 14, at Red Line Church of Christ Cemetery, near Harlan, Iowa.
