Donald R. Maifeld, 73, of Cedar Falls died Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was born April 29, 1933, in Allison, Iowa, the son of Kelly and Caroline (Siefken) Maifeld. He graduated from Allison High School in 1951 and furthered his education at Electronic Technical School in Chicago, IL. On October 5, 1952, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Folkers at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Greene, IA. He owned and operated Maifeld Electronics in Cedar Falls from 1952 until his retirement in 1993.

Don is survived by his wife Dorothy of Cedar Falls; three daughters: Cynthia S. (Luis) Silva of Lake Worth, FL, Teresa K. (Rick Joachim) Maifeld of Cedar Falls, Marcia M. (Mark Fagerlind) of Dubuque, IA; two sons, Gregory K. and Ronnie L. Maifeld, both of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Ariane M. Fagerlind of Waterloo, IA and Joseph Rae Maifeld of Cedar Falls, IA; and three sisters: Lavera Chrystal of Manchester, IA, Beth (Richard) Bailey and his twin, Donna (Jim) DeBower of Carroll.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Orville Maifeld; and sisters, Darlene Van De Pol and Ivadean Maifeld.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with interment in the Hillside Cemetery, both Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and also 1 hour prior to the services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
