Dorothy Mueller, 73, of Dike, died at home Tuesday, June 23, 2009.

She was born Aug. 3, 1935, in Tripoli, daughter of Henry and Renate Hoppenworth Henning. She married Duane Mueller on Jan. 12, 1958, at Grace Lutheran Church, Tripoli.

Mrs. Mueller was a graduate of Tripoli High School and had farmed with her husband near Sumner. She also worked at Midwest Turkey Hatchery, Dike, for 15 years, and later was co-owner of D&D Foods, Dike, retiring in 1998. She was a volunteer for Dike/New Hartford School Lunch Program for many years, and was a member of Fredsville Lutheran Church, where she was a member of choir and Ladies Fellowship.

Survived by her husband; three daughters: Diane Hansen of Cedar Falls, and Debra (Kevin) Hemmen and Dawn (John) Dwyer, both of Dike; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Darrell (Doris) Henning of Sumner.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Virgil Henning.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Fredsville Lutheran Church, with burial in Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery, both in rural Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
