Dwayne E. Petersen, 76, of rural Dysart, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two sons, R. William of Chariton and John E. of Waterloo; two daughters, Kathryn Hinds of Marion and Eileen Weber of Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Leslie of Dike and Charles of Hudson; and a sister, LaVonne Johnson of Hudson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roger, Howard and Dale; a sister, Thelma; and a grandchild.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Traer, with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Fredsville Cemetery, Cedar Falls; friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Overton Funeral Home, Traer, with family present from 4 to 7 p.m.; Mr. Petersen was a farmer.
