WATERLOO — Leona M. Poock, 94, of Marshalltown, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Southridge Nursing Home, Marshalltown.

She was born May 3, 1918, in Bremer County, daughter of William G. and Anna Kerkhoff Kappmeyer. She married Ruben C. Poock on Oct. 31, 1948, in Bremer County.

Mrs. Poock worked as a nurse’s aide for the Bremer County Care Facility and then as a seamstress for Black’s Department Store.

Survived by a son-in-law, Mark A. Wade of Marshalltown; and a granddaughter.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Wade; five brothers: Paul, Walter and Harold Kappmeyer, and two infants; and a sister, Marena Petersen.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, where visitation begins at noon, with burial in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly.
