WATERLOO - Richard T. Jenkins, 83, of Grinnell, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at St. Francis Manor, Grinnell, of natural causes.

He was born March 1, 1917, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was a 1939 graduate of Grinnell College and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked for People's Mutual Savings and Loan, Waterloo, and later served in the office of development of Grinnell College.

Survived by his wife, Kay; three sons, Paul of Conway, Maine, Robert of Waterloo and Eric of LeClaire; two daughters, Anne Laskey of San Francisco and Mary Bauer of La Porte City; 12 grandchildren; and three sisters: Mary Lou Anderson of Arizona, Evangeline Niles of Placerville, Calif., and Cynthia Leniton of Port Richey, Fla.

Graveside services: 10 a.m. Sunday at Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell. Smith Funeral Home, Grinnell, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, Waterloo.
