LA PORTE CITY - Ethel E. Peters, 82, of 12612 Kober Road, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at Sunnycrest Nursing Center, Dysart, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 12, 1915, in rural Tama County daughter of Frank B. and Ella B. Ryan Nutt. She married Henry W. Peters Jr. on June 3, 1942, in Kahoka Mo. He died April 23, 1993. Mrs. Peters graduated from Cedar Rapids Business College, was employed by Chandlers, Cedar Rapids, and by La Porte City State Bank for nine years, and farmed with her husband in Independence and La Porte
City, retiring in 1988.

Survived by a son, Dennis of Steamboat Rock; a daughter, Kathleen Peters of La Porte City; two grandsons; and a sister, Frances Anderson of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Frank and John Nutt Services: 2 p.m Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, and an hour before services Friday at the church.
