Elmer F. Wanderscheid, 88, of 123 E. Parker St., formerly of 917 W. First Street, died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes

He was born April 28, 1906, in Lawler, son of John and Anna Schwendmger Wanderscheid. He married Ethel McGlad on Dec. 31, 1929, in Waterloo; she died April 2, 1993.

Mr. Wanderscheid was a farmer in the Lawler area then an electrician. He retired from Standard Heating Equipment

Survived by a son, James of Dallas; two daughters, Joan Witherow of Sun City West, Ariz., and Susanna Curtis of Orange, Calif; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wiled "Pete" of New Hampton and Joseph of Miami.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Pauline Schug; three brothers: Martin, Louis and George; and a sister, Margaret Wanderscheid.

Services noon Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Oppold-Hagarty Funeral Home, where there will be a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Villa or the O'Hagen Hall renovation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
