Ethel M. Wanderscheid, 80, of 917 W. First St., died Friday, April 2, 1993, at Allen Memorial Hospital, of a heart attack.

She was born May 17, 1912, in Waterloo, daughter of James and Mary Burke McGlad. She married Elmer Wanderscheid on Dec. 31, 1929, in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband; a son, James of Dallas; two daughters, Joan Witherow of Baltimore and Susanna Curtis of Orange, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Olsen of Mora, Minn.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Pauline Schug; and a brother, Ronald Dean; and a sister, Florence.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Oppold-Hagarty Funeral Home, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and a 7:30 p.m. parish vigil service.
